About us
Rosebud Christian Church has been in operation since 1898. We have a rich and wonderful history in the Walnut Cove community. We are an independent Christian Church associated with a growing number of people and churches who prefer to be known as "Christians" only.
These congregations are simply called Christian Churches or Churches of Christ. We strive to follow only the New Testament in its manner of doctrines, ordinances, and faith. Because of this position, we have come to call ourselves as part of the "Restoration Movement".
This movement is not "just another denomination", since we have not chosen a denominational or "man-made" name, creed, or book of doctrine. We are independent in our organization and are governed only by the New Testament and leaders from within the local congregation.
It is our desire to work together with all Christians everywhere to continue to fulfill the mission of Jesus to “go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” Matthew 28:19,20 NIV

Our Vision
It is our desire to be a community of believers who...
• are deeply in love with the God who made us and redeemed us
• celebrate and express that love in authentic worship.
• are willing to invest ourselves in people: in those who are far from Christ, to lead them to saving faith in Him, and in those who are already believers, to bring them to maturity in Christ.
• study and teach the Bible in a personal and relevant way, that we may both understand it and submit to its authority.
• compassionately meet the needs of those around us and show them that there is a loving God who cares for them and wants to bless abundantly.
Our Values
We believe we must be:
Biblical - The Bible is the final authority for what we believe and practice.
Missional - Jesus commands us to make disciples of all nations, and we must obey and be busy at the task.
Incarnational - We strive to be like Jesus in all that we say and do.
Spiritual - We want to be led by the Holy Spirit, so we will devote ourselves to prayer and the study of God’s Word.
Transformational - Jesus came to bring about change, and we are still in the ministry of transforming lives today.
Inspirational - We make every effort to bring people into the presence of God through worship and help them realize their God-given purpose and potential to change the world.
Communal - God intended for His people to live together in community, and we will strive to facilitate this kind of caring and fellowship through small groups.
